AYSO Region 294 Serving the beautiful Kern River Valley

Welcome to AYSO Region 294 and Thank You for volunteering! We want to take a moment and go over a few items before you begin your season with your teams.

Equipment - Once registration is completed for players and teams selections have been made, all gear and equipment the region provides will be issued by one of the board members. This equipment will need to be turned in at the end of the season.  If you need replacement gear, contact Jordyn Speakman.

Practicing Practices can start once teams have been selected.  Please be mindful of the allowable number of practices each week for the division you are coaching.  If you need any suggestions for drills or practices, please contact Skyler Hug or Jordyn Speakman.  They are both here for your support.  Be courteous to other teams and share the field spaces.  Field marking will occur every Friday.  Anyone willing to come out and help mark the fields would be greatly appreciated.

You must provide a practice schedule and location for your team and post it in the Mojo App.

  *  Practice cancellations should be considered when:
      1. The temperature is more than 100 degrees.
      2. The wind is excessive and will hinder player abilities

  *  Practices MUST BE CANCELLED when:
      1.  There is thunder or lightening near or at the field.
      2.  Excessive rain exists, or
      3.  It is snowing
      4.  There are any safety issues present to players or coaches

Coach Training, Background Check, and Fingerprinting - Background check must be completed before a team can be assigned.  Fingerprinting and required courses must be completed before the first game.

Game Day - Goal setup and teardown is the responsibility of ALL teams. This should be done by parents and not coaches.  Please let your parents know that this is a requirement in order for games to take place.
*  The teams with the first game of the day in each division are responsible for picking up the goals from the pod and setting them up.
*  The teams with the last game of the day in each division are responsible for teardown of the goals and returning them to the pod.

Notifications - If you have any issues regarding player no show or scheduling, please contact us immediately.  The need for game cancellations are rare.  Often times we continue with the game with some augmentation.  If you or your coach assistant can not make it to a game, please let us know ASAP.
*  Only a Board Member or referee will make the decision for a game cancellation.

Parents - We strongly encourage you to hold a parent meeting with your parents at the beginning of the season to set forth expectations and objectives.  Please advise your parents that it is very important for their players to make practices and of gameday setup or teardown needs.  We also ask that they do not attempt to make calls during the games or speak to, or at, the referees.  If a parent interferes with the referee or any part of the game, the game can be terminated, or the coach may be penalized and issued either a yellow or red card.

Lastly - A reminder from the Referee Administrator
*  Coaches can not step on the field during the games or they will be carded.
*  If a player is injured, please wait for the referee to evaluate the player and call you onto the field if needed.

Please be sure to contact us if you need anything.  We are here to help you make the season a success!
