1. Register as a volunteer - Please be sure each volunteer has their own account with a unique email address (youth volunteers or partners/spouses must have their own account or be added and accept an invite to the primary account). Sign in at ayso294.org, navigate to your volunteer tab, and click on "open volunteer positions." You may have already done this during registration; when navigating to your volunteer tab it will show you if you have volunteered for the current season.
2. Complete the Safe Haven, CDC Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and XS CEU Stewards of the Game courses online
- Log into your account, click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on the Volunteer Page.
- On the training site, click "Training Library" on the left.
- Under "Safe Haven Courses" click "View Courses"
- Enroll and complete the Safe Haven Online course, the CDC Concussion Awareness Online Course, the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Online Course, and the XS DEU Stewards of the Game Online course.
3. Complete the SafeSport Online Training
- View the courses for Safe Haven and select Access your Safe Sport Course Here.
- An Enrollment Key dialog box should open with a Key Name already entered into the box. Select Enroll.
- If you get the message that you are already enrolled in the course then click on My Courses to continue the course.
- If the enrollment key doesn't take you straight to the course click "Course Catalog" and find the Safe Sport for US Soccer Federation. Enroll and complete the course.
4. Complete the Fingerprinting Requirement (only if 18 and over)
- Contact the Division Coordinator, Jordyn Speakman, at [email protected] and request a Pre-Paid Code for the Live Scan process
- After you receive the pre-paid code click here to go to the website or type in following address into your browser - https://www.applicantservices.com/AYSO-Prepaid
- Select "Use my Prepaid Code for Live Scan Fingerprinting" and follow the prompts
- Be sure to take the printed form or digital copy on your phone and your government issued ID to the appointment.
5. Attend appropriate training course: All divisions have online training courses; 10U and above have
Online and in-person training requirements.
- To coach Schoolyard, Playground, 6U or 8U you need to enroll and complete the online courses for these divisions.
- To coach 10U you need to complete the "10U Coaching - Online + In-Person Field Session" and enroll in the in-person portion
- To coach 12U you need to complete the "12U Coach Training Pre-Course (Part 1) - Online" and enroll in the in-person portion
- To coach 14U you need to complete "Intermediate 14U Pre-Course (Part 1) - Online" and enroll in the in-person portion
To get to online portions:
- Login to your account, click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page.
- On the training site, click "Training Library" on the left, Go to "coaching" (click View Courses), Enroll/Complete the course listed above in quotations
To enroll in in person portion (usually offered just prior to the start of our Fall and Spring seasons):
- Login to your account, click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page.
- On the training site, click "Training Event" on the left and on the calendar find the training event you need based on what division you are coaching. Dates will not be available on the calendar until they are posted to the "In Person" section to the right on desktop or below on mobile.
- The best searches are done by removing the region information and entering your zip code then selecting the largest distance away. This will give you a complete list of the in-person courses closest to your home.
- Region 294 will reimburse coaches for traveling expenses which includes mileage and meals.
6. Attend the appropriate Coaches meeting. A calendar of meeting dates will be provided by the Coach Administrator. Please see Important Dates/Info located under the Coach Central Tab
