Disclaimer: AYSO is obligated to observe and respect existing regulations and laws regarding the presence of service animals at our fields. Service animals are defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as only dogs or miniature horses that have been trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Other animals, whether wild or domestic, do not qualify as service animals.
Pets on the Field
We know, your pet is another valued member of your family. But because others may have allergies or may be scared of animals, many AYSO fields across the country don't allow pets on their fields. It's AYSO's goal to make your soccer season as safe as possible for you, your family and even your pets. That's why on game day and during practices, we ask for you to leave your beloved family pet at home. You can get more information at https://aysovolunteers.org/policy-pets-on-the-field/
AYSO insurance will not cover incidents, should one occur, and we may seek compensation from the pet owner for any damages/injuries besides any other parties which may claim damages from the pet owner.
This is a safety issue. We understand nobody ever believes their pet may cause problems until it happens.
In consideration of all our players, volunteers, and spectators, please leave your pet at home.
